You
must be an 1199 member employed full or part-time (minimum of eight
hours per week - 20 hours at some facilities) at a
facility that is currently contributing
to the Training Fund.
You are eligible for our Learning Center programs
once you have completed your
probationary period.
You are eligible for Tuition Reimbursement
once you have completed one year at your facility.
Courses toward a certificate, a diploma, an
Associate's Degree, a Bachelor's degree, or a graduate degree in
a field that has a realistic chance of leading to full-time employment
in a health care facility
Short-term courses, workshops, trainings,
or on-line courses in a non-degree or non-credit program taken for
the purpose of skills enhancement and/or career advancement in a
health care field.
If your area of study is not directly
health care related, but your degree or certificate has a realistic chance of leading to regular employment in a health care facility (ex: business courses) then this is also covered.
If your area of study doesn't fit the above,
the Training Fund will still reimburse you for prerequisite
courses such as English, Math, Biology, etc. that are required
to be taken before you enter your degree courses. Please check
with the Training Fund office if you have any questions about
this.

The maximum reimbursement for tuition and fees is $2,000 per semester,
three times per year. Module programs will be reimbursed
up to three times per year for any mod that begins in
January-May, June-August, and September-December. Textbooks, nursing uniforms, and other
required materials are reimbursed at
100%.

You must receive a
C or better to be reimbursed.

You must submit a Tuition
Reimbursement application to the Fund office by the stated
semester deadline. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED. If you are not in a semester length
course, an application must be submitted to the office before
the course begins.
