Solidarity:
I remember when I was in school in Haiti, my teacher was telling
us a story about how we got our independence from slavery. That
was in 1804. There was a group of slaves. They got together in one
voice and said "Enough is enough!" They got together to
have a meeting and every one of them kept asking, "What we
are going to do? We want to be free!" One of them stood up
and said, "Are we all going to die or live free? Now all stand
up, and cry out 'we are all going to die or live free.'" One
thing he was saying was that if we stand together and fight, all
in one, we have to be solid.
Solidarity means, brothers and sisters, if we would like to change
something, we have to stand strong. All for one and one for all.
That's solidarity.
