Writings From Voices 2003 - Fairfield County - Paulard Joseph

I remember when I was transferred from Mediplex of Cheshire to Mediplex of Stamford. I regretted it because my first six months there were horrible. Even a co-worker asked me to leave and to go look for another job. I was very excited when 1199 was elected and after that I felt a big relief. Our jobs were secure, and I had the chance to reach my ten years at Mediplex. If it wasn't for the union, I would never have lasted even one year. I will never stop giving thanks to the union for helping me to see May 3,1993 -May 3,2003

Besides that great day, 1199 also put in the Training and Upgrading Fund. Now I have the opportunity to go to school and have a high school diploma with the help of two great instructors, Mrs. Felicia Dickinson and Mrs. Bette Huckabee. They were there standing by me to help me and encourage me to achieve a part of my goal that I always wanted. Now I have a high school diploma.

Once again, a big thanks to the Training Fund and I am so proud to be a member of the 1199 union. May God bless you all.
