With years of advocacy with 1199 as a delegate and prior achievements in helping my peers with multiple problems in the workplace, my vision was enhanced and in 1997 returned to Southern Connecticut State University after being accepted into the School of Social Work. I successfully completed my undergraduate program, and graduated in 1999 with a Bachelors Degree in Social Work and a minor in Sociology. After reviewing my prior accomplishments I returned to Southern in 2001 and graduated in 2003 with a Masters Degree in Social Work with specialty in Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia. My major is in long-term care.
While pursuing my education I continued to work at Atrium Plaza 40 hours per week, and still found time to be committed to 1199 as a full time delegate. With all
my achievements, I know I could not have done it without the help and support of the 1199 Training and Upgrading Fund and for that I am grateful.
To my peers I will say knowledge is power and the sky is the limit. Always believe in yourself and someone will believe in you. Go get it! !
