Writings From Voices 2004 - Iwana Jablonski

My name is Iwona Jablonski. I am employed as a CNA at the Wethersfield Health Care Center. I immigrated with my family from Poland. I never finished my high school diploma in Poland, therefore I decided after many, many years to finish it in America.

For me, it was very difficult to finish school because of language barriers. I have to give thanks to the God who gave me the strength to move on. I also have to give thanks to my family who gave me time to study. This is the first big step in achieving my goals in life. Maybe it is the beginning of what I hope will come in the future.

To the 1199 Training Fund, I must say thank you for telling me to believe in myself. Laurie and Felicia are awesome teachers.

I love you, and I respect you for teaching me in ways that I can understand. Thanks for everything.
