Program Description
This certificate for Direct Care Workers provides an overview of issues in aging and the main issues direct care workers face.
The certificate is designed to enhance clinical skills of direct care providers in long term care facilities, including front line workers, receptionists, and recreation facilitators. It also provides an avenue for healthcare providers to move into supervisory positions and/or to further their education towards advanced degrees.
Online Course-Work includes 4 eight-week online, self-paced college classes on the topics of:
- Issues in Aging
- Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease
- Hospice and Palliative Care
- Addressing Chronic Conditions
